Dead Valley- F3B (14/08/03)

Well, finally back from Dead Valley, ohh sorry, from Kirchheim in Germany. So many things to speak, think, doubt about, that maybe it's better just to be quiet. No, sure, just joking, wie immer.

In my eyes conditions were extremely unusuall and I never experienced this. Sure the best pilots and teams stay the best, doesn't matter under which conditions. No doubt.

Hansi and Rike Golz (they just married two days before WC! congratulation!) made with whole organizer team huge work especially when looking back to all unexpected troubles which such top competition brings. This was really excellent job! Thanks!

When watching time keepers from our basin with cold beer :) under burning nearly 50°C sunshine, I admired them and also I would like to express my thanx. I wouldn't survive as timekeeper not only one Distance round...

Also neccessary to mention CD (Comp Director) Ralf Decker who was at airfield under any conditions and was doing his best. This was really admirable. In some critical moments, there was nothing to envy. Thanks!

I'd like also mention perhaps main sponsor, company Graupner. These guys were very helpfull and helped me also with my already a bit used MC 24 (Tx). Thanks!

I'm sure that all requested details about Dead Valley meeting you will find on well done web site by Wolfi (Wolf Diether Mast). Don't hesitate and go there F3B WC 2003 website

My intention was to make movie from Kirchheim, therefore not so many pictures you can see right now. Hopefully within some time I can present you something what was never seen from F3B WC. Stay with me.

Good Luck!

P.S. Hopefully Kiwis are already at home?! Hey guys in Lappeenranta (next F3B WC in Finland) at least in teams there will be revenge! We are starting to treat F3B seriously, no beer, no Vodka, no alcohol, just only Whisky! Take care:))

Czech poll with served cold czech beer:) We were selling even tickets for 3EUR each. For 5 EUR you could even piss there, ehmmm :)

Hmmm, strange community these F3B guys. To whom do they pray?!

Famous D.Perlick's Caldera. Typical example of reincarnation. Amazing job. Was glued together in original moulds during looong night. Well done boys!

Daryl Perkins (USA), ex ex ex ex F3B World Champion. Here just comming from the fastest speed in 2003 WC- 15.?? sec. Was really amazing. Seems to me, many of us were doubting if he will be able to defend his 5-th F3B WC victory. Anyhow I definitely appreciate his courage to come again and fight with such ungrateful position-even without Joe Wurts ;-)

Ralf Decker, grandpa of all F3B guys. Also look at Big Display behind him. Seems to me its great improvement in F3B timing and infos for pilots. Once when all "flyes" will be fixed, it will be remembered as turn point. Next time I would place it perhaps a bit low. In some moments it was seriously dwarfing pilots searching theirs gliders on the sky.

Chef. Aneil Patel TM from New Zealand in Distance fighting with Germans. It was great idea to come over the whole globe guys and to meet here. When is F3B WC held in NZ? I'm starting to save money for airfare...will take me a few years:)

Swedes. They were flying theirs Racemachines excellent as usually. From left famous launcher Henrik Carlsson (watch title picture on this site), Joakim Stahl and Pasi Vaisanen. Joakim became a sad heroe of last closing 8. speed round. Even up to now I'm not sure what was going on there. Was it just stupid mistake (everybody makes them) or any other intention?

That's all. Now only winners. Pasi Vaissanen (2. -Sweden), Andreas Bohlen (1.- Switzerland) and Reinhard Liese (3.-Germany).

Peter Fusek holding my BigSting before speed launch. BTW he was also starring on all F3B WC 2003 posters on that my notoriously know picture.

My mate Jaroslav Triska and me. Hurly-burly can start, just to reach A...

...roll, turn!

Done.

Here we are!
