Sun 15- F3B (14/6/04)

Very tricky weather we experienced this weekend. Raining hundred times, sunshine two hundred times. Anyhow we were flying speed and distance with standard timing system (was used also at F3B WC in Chrudim 2000)

Not so often I can give you brief analysis of sub 15sec speed. All that top F3B pilots are too cagey or even inscrutable to share theirs experience, therefore dont hesitate and study. Im not top pilot-no secrets. I can just shortly comment this speed run with my Viking.

  • average launch, but to good air (even raising after leveling Viking). Should I thermal? Perhaps yes, with that wing load (43.5g/qdm)
  • perhaps I should start to turn on B1 a bit higher (minimum10m-20m)
  • turning on B1 was bad as usually, I guess I shouldnt dive so strong to A2
  • turning on B2 also very bad, I had to even pull slightly, BTW turn was over-turned (you cant see it on altitude log) and need to be slightly corrected
  • well, good air helped me to mask all these mistakes :))

That day I was flying speed runs with wing load 40g/qdm 17.30, 15.89, 15.06 and 17.63, 14.67, 16.33 with 43.5g/qdm. If you want all altitude logs you can have it here viking.llo 15k. Speed log I will not share I'm getting cagey... :)
